SYRACUSE -- Multiple Syracuse University students reported robberies Saturday evening and Sunday morning in locations near the SU campus.
Syracuse Police says at 8:30 p.m., two Syracuse University Law School students, both men, were cutting through Oakwood Cemetery near College Place?when they were approached by four men who displayed a silver, long barreled handgun who proceeded to tell?the students to lie on the ground. The suspects then struck and kicked the students, stealing their wallets, car keys, ID and shoes.
The four suspects fled on foot through the cemetery. The students, uninjured, walked out of the cemetery and alerted the Syracuse University Department of Public Safety. The suspects are described as four black men, ranging from 16 to 22 years in age about 5'9" tall, with one wearing a?hooded sweatshirt and the others?dark colored hooded sweatshirts.
In addition to the Oakwood Cemetery Robbery, two more students reported robberies?early Sunday morning.
Syracuse University Public Safety says at 3:39 a.m on Sunday, a student reported that three men tried to rob him on the 700 block of Ostrom Avenue. The student ran away from the men, with no injuries reported. The?suspects are described as three black men, around 5'10" and 5'11", in their late 20's, and one had facial hair. The victim says one suspect wore a reddish brown jacket, with another wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt.
At 3:45 a.m., a student reported being robbed by three men in the parking lot of 703 Walnut Avenue. One suspect threatened the use of a knife, though none was observed, and the student scraped his knee during the altercation. The suspects in this case are described as three black men, ranging in height from 5'8" and 5'10", around 150 to 160 pounds, and ranging in age from 16 to 19. The victim says one suspect had on a large puffy jacket.
Syracuse Police says it appears that the?Ostrom Ave. and Walnut Ave. robberies may be related, but?they do?not appear to be related to the Saturday evening?robbery in Oakwood cemetery.
Anyone with information on?any of the above?robberies is asked to contact the Syracuse Police Department at 315-422-522.
